The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. About the Role
The Senior Manager Knowledge, Policy and Capability Building role has been designed to provide strategic leadership in influencing and guiding the not for profit, private business and Government sectors in creating and deepening inclusion practices that can be self-sustained; and to grow our reputation as a knowledge leader. The role will take a lead in developing and maintaining multilevel stakeholder relationships across the various sectors and communities to understand their challenges and opportunities to develop meaningful practice and policy advocacy.
The Senior Manager will be accountable for a small range of teams with an approach that facilitates strategic collaboration, communication and supports the teams’ agility in adapting to external and internal environments and emerging youth issues. The successful applicant will oversee teams within the Knowledge Hub including policy, research and evaluation and Capability building. You will have previous experience in managing high functioning teams with technical expertise, possess strategic stakeholder management in government and non-government sectors and be an independent and highly motivated leader with an agile mindset.
- Hours: 38 hours per week (1.0FTE), Part Time / Full Time
- Fixed Term: 2-year contract
- Base Salary (Individual contract)- $130,000-135,000 per annum (pro rata, if part time) ) plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)

You will have
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to operate at both the strategic and operational levels
- Ability to consult and collaborate across an organisation with highly developed relationship management, influencing and change management skills
- Proven ability to negotiate and partner successfully with government, non-government and community stakeholders.
- Agile leadership skills with the ability to respond to change and new opportunities including the ability to implement effective improvement strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, data analysis, and problem-solving skills including strong written communication (work plans, policy papers, reports, funding submissions/tenders, business cases, board reports).
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability to lead high-performing teams with strong interpersonal skills including supervision, coaching, collaborating, and team building
- Strong project management skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, manage risk and budgets whilst achieving quality outcomes
