The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. The Business Development Manager leads Centre for Multicultural Youth’s Business Development portfolio, responsible for strengthening and executing strategic growth initiatives across fee-for-service program areas. This role drives sustainable business growth by building commercial capability, developing scalable systems and processes, and embedding efficient, high-quality business practices. Operating at a senior level, the role provides leadership across fee-for-service teams, fostering commercial literacy, structured workflows, and consistent client experiences that support organisational growth.
The role is accountable for achieving revenue and pipeline growth targets across all fee-for-service units, including annual income and client retention metrics. It also leads strategic relationship development with government, philanthropic, corporate, and community partners to ensure CMY’s offerings remain competitive and responsive to client and sector needs.
- Hours: 30.4 - 38 hours per week (0.8 – 1 FTE), Part Time / Full Time
- Fixed Term: for 24 months
- Base Salary (SCHADS Level 7.1) $ $119,093.52 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging.(Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)

You will have
- Demonstrated experience in business development or commercial management roles, including developing and delivering fee-for-service models, leading end to end sales activities, and preparing high quality business proposals and grant applications, which deliver sustainable growth in complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and achieve performance targets, analyse results and identity and address key risks, challenges and constraints impacting outcomes
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to consult, collaborate and influence across an organisation, building strong internal and external relationships
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise and engage teams and stakeholders at both operational and executive levels.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, including supervising, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and building capability.
- Agile project management skills, with the ability to manage risk, budgets, quality, and changing priorities in dynamic environment
